HOW TO LOG IN

1

Go to the BCBC website and tap Login in the navigation menu.

You will be taken to a Change Password screen. This is required on your first login. Enter a new password (at least 4 characters) and confirm it.

5

Tap Change Password. You're now logged in and will be redirected to the homepage.

Tip: After logging in, you'll see your profile in the navigation — your name on a computer, or your initials circle inside the hamburger menu (☰) on a phone. Tap it to access your Player Card, Score Match, Account Settings, and more.

SET UP FACE ID / PASSKEY (OPTIONAL)

You can sign in with Face ID, Touch ID, or a security key instead of typing your password every time.

  1. On a computer, tap your name in the top-right corner. On a phone, tap the menu icon (☰) then tap your initials circle. Go to Account Settings.
  2. Scroll to the Face ID / Passkey section.
  3. Tap Add Face ID / Passkey and follow the prompt on your device.
  4. Next time you log in, just tap the Sign in with Face ID / Passkey button.

FORGOT YOUR PASSWORD?

If you forget your password, tap Forgot your password? on the login page. Enter your email address and you'll receive a link to reset it. If you don't have an email on file, contact the league operator for help.

📲

The BCBC scoring app is designed to work on your phone's browser — no app store download needed. For the best experience on match night, follow these steps to set it up ahead of time.

4

KEEP YOUR SCREEN ON DURING MATCHES

Your phone's screen may dim or lock while you're playing a game. To avoid losing your place in the scoring app:

  • iPhone: Go to Settings → Display & Brightness → Auto-Lock and set it to Never (or at least 5 minutes). Remember to change it back after match night.
  • Android: Go to Settings → Display → Screen timeout and set it to 10 minutes or higher.
Tip: If your phone locks during scoring, don't worry — your progress is saved automatically. Just unlock your phone and pick up where you left off.

BEFORE MATCH NIGHT

Do these things before you get to the bar to avoid issues on match night:

  • Log in once at home — Make sure your username and password work. Change your default password if you haven't already.
  • Set up Face ID / Passkey — This lets you sign in with a tap instead of typing a password.
  • Don't use private/incognito mode — Your login won't persist if your browser is in private mode. Use a regular browser window.
  • Add to home screen — Follow the steps above so you can launch it quickly on match night.
📱

On match night, any logged-in player on the roster can access the scoring app for their team's match. Open the BCBC app from your home screen (or go to the website in your browser).

HOW TO GET THERE

1

Open the BCBC app from your home screen, or go to the website in your phone's browser and log in.

2

On a computer, tap your name in the top-right corner. On a phone, tap the menu icon (☰) then tap your initials circle.

3

Tap Score Match.

4

You'll see your current week's matchup — your team, the opponent, date, and location. Tap Start Scoring to begin.

One scorer per team: Only one person from each team can be actively scoring at a time. If someone else on your team is already scoring, you'll have the option to take over their session.
If someone takes over your session, you'll see a "YOU'VE BEEN SCRATCHED!" message. This means another player from your team has started scoring and your session has ended.
Phone tip: Hold your phone in portrait mode (upright) for the best scoring experience. The app is designed for one-handed use.
🎯

Each team match consists of 5 individual player matches. The scoring app walks you through all 5, one at a time. Each individual match is scored game by game as you play.

SELECT PLAYERS

For each of the 5 matches, you'll pick both players:

  1. Tap to select a player from your team's roster.
  2. Tap to select the opponent from the other team's roster.
Players who already played will appear grayed out with "already played" next to their name. Each player can only play once per week.

Once both players are selected, you'll see the matchup with each player's handicap and race target displayed.

Race targets by handicap: A 1-handicap races to 5 games, a 2 races to 4, a 3 races to 3, a 4 races to 2, and RT3 always races to 3.

SCORING GAME BY GAME

You'll see a row of numbered game boxes (1 through 9) for each player. Score each game as it's played:

1

Tap a game box to open the scoring window for that game.

2

Tap Win or Loss to record who won that game.

3

If the winner had a Break & Run or an 8-Ball on the Break, tap those buttons (only available for the game winner).

4

Tap Score & Start Next Game to confirm and move on.

After each game, the game box updates to show a W (win) or L (loss). If a B/R or 8-Ball was recorded, a badge appears on that game box.

Need to fix a game? Tap any already-scored game box to edit it. You can change the winner or add/remove B/R and 8-Ball designations.

WINNING A MATCH

When a player reaches their race target (the number of games they need to win), a banner announces the winner. Tap Confirm & Start Next Match to move on to the next individual match and select new players.

TIMEOUTS

Tap any game box to open the scoring window, then tap the Timeout button at the bottom of that window. A confirmation prompt appears, and once confirmed, a 60-second countdown clock takes over the screen. The clock automatically resumes play when it hits zero, or you can tap Resume early.

  • Each player gets 1 timeout per game.
  • Handicap 4 players get 1 bonus timeout for the entire night — it can be used as a second timeout in any single game, but once it's used, it's gone for the rest of the match.
  • The button shows how many timeouts are remaining (e.g., "Timeout (2 left)" for a hdcp 4 player, "Timeout (1 left)" for others).

NAVIGATE BETWEEN MATCHES

Use the buttons at the bottom of the screen:

  • ← Prev Match — Go back to the previous match to review or correct.
  • Rules — Open a searchable rules reference (8-Ball and League rules).
  • Next Match → — Move on to the next match.

You can also tap the numbered match tabs (1 - 5) at the top to jump directly to any match.

VIEW TEAM STATS

Tap the Stats button in the top-right corner to see your team's roster with each player's record, performance percentage, and handicap. This can help with lineup decisions.

⚠️

If a team can't field a player for one of the 5 matches, it counts as a forfeit. The app walks you through the process.

RECORDING A FORFEIT

When selecting players for a match, FORFEIT and CREDIT appear at the bottom of each team's roster.

  1. Tap FORFEIT for the team that can't field a player.
  2. A "Forfeit Win" screen appears for the winning team. You choose how to handle the credit:
    • Apply to a player now — pick a player from the winning team's roster to receive the attendance credit.
    • Save as Credit — bank it for the team to assign later through the league.
  3. A summary confirms the result, then the app advances to the next match.
One credit per player per week. If a player already received a forfeit credit from another match that week, they'll show as unavailable in the player list.
🔍

When both teams are scoring the same match electronically at the same time, the app compares both sets of entries in real-time to catch disagreements before submission.

HOW IT WORKS

  • If there's a disagreement between the two teams' entries (different player names, different game scores, different B/R or 8-Ball counts), an orange warning banner appears at the top of the screen.
  • Tap View Mismatches to see exactly what doesn't match, with a side-by-side comparison.
  • Coordinate with the other team's scorer to fix the disagreements.

SUBMITTING WITH MISMATCHES

If you tap SUBMIT RESULTS while mismatches exist, the app will prompt you to check with the other team first. If you're unable to resolve the differences, you can still submit — a league admin will review the discrepancies and may follow up with your team.

Timeouts are not compared — each team tracks their own timeouts independently, so those won't trigger a mismatch.

After all 5 matches are scored, you'll review and submit your results.

THE SUMMARY SCREEN

After the last match, tap Finish. You'll see:

  • The final team score (e.g., 3 – 2)
  • All 5 individual match results with player names and game scores
  • Any Break & Runs or 8-Balls on Break

HANDICAP CHANGES

If any of your team's players would have a handicap change based on that week's results, you'll see a projected change below the match results. For example:

Adam Pournaras: RT3 → 2

This is a projection of what will happen if the admin approves the scores as-is. It's meant to give your team a heads-up before next week's match. If the admin makes changes during review, the final handicap may differ.

SUBMITTING

1

Review all results carefully.

2

Add any optional notes for the league admin.

3

Tap SUBMIT RESULTS.

What happens next: Your scores are sent to the league admin for review and approval. If the other team also submits electronically, the admin sees both sets of scores side by side.
You cannot re-submit. Once your team's scores are submitted, you'll see a confirmation that scores were already submitted if you try to access the scoring app again for that match. Make sure everything is correct before submitting.

EACH TEAM SUBMITS INDEPENDENTLY

Both teams can use the scoring app at the same time. Each team enters and submits their own scores independently:

  • If your team submits first, the other team can still access the app and submit theirs.
  • If only one team submits electronically and the other uses paper, that's fine too — the admin handles both.

Problem Solution
"Invalid username or password" Make sure your username is your full name, lowercased, with no spaces or special characters. Your default password is bcbc. If you've already changed your password and forgotten it, tap "Forgot your password?" on the login page.
"YOU'VE BEEN SCRATCHED!" Someone else from your team took over the scoring session. Only one scorer per team is allowed at a time. Coordinate with your teammates to decide who will score.
Can't submit — mismatch The other team entered different information. Tap "View Mismatches" to see what's different, then work with the other team's scorer to correct the discrepancies.
Player grayed out in roster That player was already assigned to another match this week. Each player can only play once per week.
Page not loading or stale data iPhone: Close the Safari tab completely (swipe it away), then reopen the page. Android: Tap the three-dot menu and choose "Reload" or long-press the refresh button and choose "Hard reload."
Scoring app not available The scoring lobby opens at 6:00 PM on match night. If it's before that time, you'll need to wait.
Login doesn't stick / keeps logging out Make sure you're not using private/incognito mode. Private browsing clears your login when you close the tab. Use a regular browser window instead.
Screen keeps going dark Your phone's auto-lock is turning off the screen. Go to your phone's Display settings and increase the screen timeout (or set to "Never" for match night). See the "Setting Up on Your Phone" section above.
